Privacy, kept simple.
DreamRing is a ring style consultation app. We designed this release to minimize data collection and avoid account creation.
Data we process
- Style survey choices you enter in the app, such as occasion, stone shape, metal, setting, budget range, lifestyle, and design preferences.
- Optional free-form inspiration text if you choose to enter it.
- Style survey choices and optional inspiration text are sent to DreamRing's Cloudflare Worker and our AI image providers, Google (Gemini) and OpenAI, to create ring designs.
- Your hand photo, taken with the camera or chosen through Apple's photo picker, is sent to DreamRing's Cloudflare Worker and Google's Gemini API to place ring designs on your hand.
- When you ask for a close-up, another angle, the ring on its own, a change to a design, or more designs like the ones you saved, the relevant ring images and your hand photo are sent to DreamRing's Cloudflare Worker and to Google or OpenAI to create the new image.
- The sample hand image is bundled with the app and is sent instead if you skip uploading your own photo.
- DreamRing's servers do not store your hand photo or the ring images. They are passed to the AI provider to create the result and then discarded by DreamRing.
- Purchase and subscription status is handled by Apple through StoreKit. To confirm an active purchase before generating images, the app sends Apple's signed transaction record to DreamRing's Cloudflare Worker. The Worker keeps the original transaction ID, product, and generation counts to prevent abuse.
- If you ask DreamRing to find jewelers who can make your ring, your approximate location (rounded to about 1 km) or the city you type, together with your ring design, an image of the ring you picked, your budget range and buying preference, is sent to DreamRing's Cloudflare Worker and Google's Gemini API, which uses Google Maps and Google Search to find matching jewelers. Location is only requested when you tap to find jewelers, is never used for ads, and is not stored with your identity. Results are cached by area for up to 30 days.
- Anonymous usage events, such as which onboarding screens were reached and whether a purchase or generation succeeded, tagged with a random identifier created on your device and the app version. These are not linked to your identity and are used only to improve the app.
What we do not collect
We do not create user accounts, store precise location, track you across apps or websites, sell personal data, use third-party advertising SDKs, or use third-party analytics SDKs.
Service providers
Apple processes in-app purchases and subscriptions. Cloudflare hosts this policy, terms, support site, and AI request proxy. Google processes your design choices, hand photo and ring images through the Gemini API to create and edit ring images, and your ring design, ring image and approximate location through the Gemini API, Google Maps and Google Search when you ask to find jewelers. OpenAI processes ring images, your hand photo and design details to create close-ups, other angles and views of the ring on its own, and as a backup when Google is unavailable. These providers are expected to protect data consistently with their own privacy commitments and applicable law.
Retention, deletion, and consent
Survey choices, story text, your hand photo, and saved rings are kept on your device until you remove them or delete the app. You can erase all of it at any time from the menu in the app's gallery with Delete my data. DreamRing does not create an account or store a server-side profile. Anonymous usage events and purchase verification records are kept for up to 24 months. AI generation requests are processed to return ring try-on images and are not used by DreamRing to build an account profile. You can avoid uploading a personal photo by using the bundled sample hand. If you contact support, we retain the message only as long as needed to respond and maintain support records.
Children
DreamRing is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If future releases add account features, server-side photo storage, or other AI providers, this policy and the App Store privacy details will be updated before release.
